In der funktionalen Programmierung bezieht sich Faltung auf eine Familie von Funktionen höherer Ordnung, die eine rekursive Struktur durch Verwendung einer gegebenen Kombinationsoperation analysieren, die Ergebnisse der rekursiven Verarbeitung ihrer Bestandteile rekombinieren und einen Rückgabewert aufbauen.
